SOUND CONSPIRACY was born on automn 1997 from the union of three Sound Systems: OKUPE ,TOTAL RESISTANCE & FACOM UNIT. Under this form they travelled all around west and east Europe, playing massive free parties with their mobile sound system, free vibes and free spirits. In 1998 they embarked on a journey across Europe and drove across into Goa, India. Staying there for a year throwing parties to dismay to the other soundsystem providers at that time, they continually pushed the boundaries of music for the all day revellers. Since then, the team has since disbanded and gone their own ways but are still very active in the freetekno scene.

After years of noisy punk music as guitarist or bassman in NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE and after some experiences as a drummer, JAKA aka Dr.Green aka David Zeleny aka David Green has joined INFRABASS sound system in 1995. After his first liveset in 1996 with Mikis (now guitarist in BURNING HEADS), he began to play alone in 1999 . The Infrabass sound is a truly unique hard techno experience with multiple layers of breakbeats, basslines, and unique sample work. This live set by Jaka from 2003 is 85 minutes long and contains a non stop live PA of David Green’s work.

SLEIZURE also paid respect to Infrabass with the 2009-03-14 – INFRABASS SHOWCASE.

Format C:\ has been producing music, performing Live PA’s and DJing to the public since 1998. Originally involved in the punk and hardcore scene he played bass and drums until 20 years old when the electronic sound swayed him away.Producer, Liveset Performer and Dj from Germany since 1998. He’s got a busy schedule where he performs almost every week across Europe at parties, events and club nights. This live set is a great example of some of the unique music he produces, recorded in the summer of 2009. It’s an hour and a half of driving techno with some great production skills and good sample techniques.

DJ Pseudonym’s been active in the free party scene going all the way back in 1993 where he and few others formed together the Desert Storm Sound System based out of Glasgow Scotland. Dedicated to using their music as an outlet to expose people to new ideals and sounds they have setup many events throughout the year, most notable being when they brought 70,000 people together in Trafalgar Square in 1994 after the “Rave Act” was introduced. Since then they’ve also traveled to war torn Bosnia when they “Stormed Sarajevo”  and setup a street parade in freezing conditions and flying snow. Pseudonym produces and DJ’s regularly, and this set from Point Batterie captures some of the energy that you can hear at some of their events. 70 minutes long it features hard pulsing tekno with some turntablism. No this is not an android devoid of sentiments and emotions, he is a perpetrator of tribal rhythm generated from the crystal heart of micro chip technology. Master of translating the rhythmic pulse inherent to the crystal into the positive beat so appreciated by the dancefloors of our time. Crystal Distortion aka Simon Carter has been involved in the electronic music industry from the early years of the 1990′s first putting out an EP on Moving Shadow records under the alias Earth Leakage Trip. He was involved with the infamous Spiral Tribe throwing massive events at Stonehenge and Castle Morton, and still puts out music to this day under various aliases such as the Crystal Distortion moniker, Gear Shifter, and Havoc. The magic that goes along with Crystal Distortion is his ability to work the music in his many live sets that he has performed at. Loops and layers hypnotize the listener creating a frenzy that no one else comes close to recreate.
We’re unsure when this tape was released but can only assume its from 1997 – its a splattering of breakbeats and hard acid techno, just a subset of this mans many talents.

Lucky 7′s bring us to our 7th Frozen Meat Ends podcast on SLEIZURE and we come back with a live set from the Banditos based out of France and Montreal Canada. Formed in 1999 by two artists Pierre Emmanueal Braux and Sebastien Atoch they have been consistently utilizing this mechanism to express their musical taste. From then onwards they have been producing rousing electronic music, mixing in samples of films, voices and instruments that make each of their appearances a mind capturing (boggling) experience.

The mutual understanding between the two musicians is reflected in the way this hypnotic duo musically communicates with their public. Their live performance blends Electro, Breakbeat and (Minimal) Techno influences, bringing strong vibrations on the dance floor. In time their sound has become more round and basses have become deeper.

With this, I’m going to release a live set recorded on July 7th, 2007 known as lukcy 777 which features unreleased tracks and upcoming tracks from their release Headcleaner that came along later in the year.

Welcome back to the SLEIZURE Frozen Mat ends podcast – 3rd generation of Sleizure over the past 7 years. This time we’re gonna get a bit trippy and focus on an incredible artist from the Netherlands who unfortunately is no longer with us as, Curley Shoop. At the age of sixteen he released his first record on the DJAX label (D.I.C.E. – rubba dice stylin).

In 1995 he made the move to London. Although a far cry from what he knew from the free party scene in Europe Curley would flourish in the diversity of the music in London. New influences were creeping into his Dj sets, breakbeats, drum and bass, the London style. I don’t think there are too many recordings from his DJ sets from these times, in fact I don’t think you could capture it on a tape, you just had to be there, those that were there know exactly what I am talking about, some things you just can’t capture in a recording.

Curley had the utter ability to ignite a dead party, to whip up a dance floor into free flow mayhem. He never looked the part, a black guy in a predominately white hardcore scene in a funny hat and flared trousers, but he was still somehow the coolest geezer in the building, everybody wanted to talk to him, everybody wanted him on the decks, to hang out with him. Probably some of his finest moments DJ’ing was in those warehouses in London, there he would create his voodoo magic on the wheels of steel.

A lot of people who had not been out to Europe could not understand what he was playing but they loved it. It was a combination of the Spiral sound, the Dutch sound and the London sound all mixed in and mashed up, it was truly unique.

In 1997, Curley now just twenty four years of age was a proud father happily in love and with his music seriously taking off. By now his DJ gigs were constant, playing out in London and back home in Holland as well as Italy, Germany and France; his records were also now starting to come out in a steady stream. After always releasing on other peoples labels and as he was always wanting to push forwards he decided together with Barbara to start their own label Kibra Hacha. The first release on this label was to be his final one in his lifetime.

After spending Christmas together in London with his new family, Curley & Barbara set off to drive to a big party in Rome Italy for the New Year of 1998. This was to be Curley’s final set. In the early hours of the third of January whilst still out in Rome Italy Curley died suddenly in bed of a heart condition he never knew he had. It shocked us all and sent tremors throughout the party scene in Europe. Many tributes were made and several huge memorial parties were made in his honor, in Holland, England and Italy. One of the finest had been taken away in the prime of his life with everything to live for.

Some stars light up the night sky brighter than others, they give off more energy, sometimes those stars will burn out quicker because of this, but those are the stars you remember.

Spoken at his funeral, his friend Brett Young said this: Within our creative dance culture there are few people with the active energy and dedicated commitment necessary to keep the scene fresh, vibrant and at the cutting edge. Curley possessed all these powers and spread them like a virus, infecting all who crossed his path with a positive feeling and uniting us all in confidence for the future

So with this being said SLEIZURE is proud to present a lost Curley recording recorded in May of 1997 in Italy, it’s 45 minutes per side, and spans a variety of genres and artists. Quality is a bit bad as its from cassette, but please spend the time to listen to this musician who defined his style as the ultimate straightness.

This time, we’re going to focus on PREVIOUSLY FROZEN CUTS – old mixtapes and live sets that have since disappeared off the radar of most people. We’ll be showcasing artists of various harder genres.

Quality may be the shits as these are obviously mostly cassette tape rips, but the real important part is the content! Frequency of posts will vary as well, as I’m cycling around the world on a bike!

For this special inaugural episode, we’re continuing in the tradition of the infamous SLEIZURE-BQ parties, and giving you a 6 hour set loaded with various genres!
